Built in 1907, The Bertram Inn was originally constructed as a private residence for a wealthy Boston merchant. Outfitting his spacious home with oak paneling, a sweeping staircase, leaded windows and fireplaces, he created an ideal setting for a bed and breakfast. The present-day owner, Bryan Austin, an award-winning historical preservationist, has not only restored the house from cellar to garret but also established a wonderful collection of period antiques that is showcased in each of our rooms. With the help of his wife, an interior decorator, he has thoughtfully restored each room to a perfect balance of atmosphere and comfort.

Anniversary Celebration : $325
Reminisce about your past, present, and future over complimentary champagne and chocolate covered strawberries while enjoying a massage for two provided by our in house masseuse. After your treatment, lounge in our luxurious bath robes and relax on a bed covered in fragrant rose petals.

Dinner For Two: $250
Enjoy a cozy meal for two in your guest room. Let us serve you a private gourmet four-course dinner. Start out with a cheese and fruit plate accompanied by your favorite bottle of wine. Savor a delicious appetizer, and indulge in a delectable main course. Finish off your evening with a luscious dessert and coffee or port wine (menu will be decided upon request and season).

Romantic Indulgence: $175
Take pleasure in a romantic night with your special someone. Feed each other fresh fruit dipped in warm chocolate fondue while sipping complimentary champagne. Also indulge in our cheese plate, and spread exotic caviar on artisan bread and crackers. After indulging in this light fare, enjoy the romantic atmosphere complete with rose
petals strewn upon the bed.

Engagement Arrangement: $125
Plan your special proposal with a little help from our detail-oriented staff. Let us turn your room into a romantic setting, complete with floral bouquets, rose petals on the bed, sparkling candles as well as complimentary champagne and chocolate covered
strawberries to celebrate the next chapter of your relationship.

Spa Experience: $150
Indulge your senses with our relaxing spa package which features a one-hour spa massage provided by our in-house massage therapist. After your treatment relax in our terry- cloth robe while you sip a refreshing nonalcoholic beverage and dine on complimentary tea sandwiches by candle light (a pedicure/manicure can be added at an additional charge).

Fugakyu's Sushi Sampler: $70
Brookline is a sushi lovers paradise! Relish a sampling of fresh and delicious sushi created by a local favorite, Fugakyu Japanese Cuisine. Select from one choice of soup, one appetizer, and three choices of rolls. This Japanese fare will be served to you in your room on traditional sushi plates accompanied by chopsticks. Selections of sake's are also available at an extra charge.

Chocolate Lovers Package: $60
Indulge in this sinfully delicious package featuring a trifle full of "Death-By-Chocolate," fresh fruit accompanied by warm chocolate fondue, melt-in-your-mouth truffles and rich hot cocoa. After indulging your appetite, sooth your senses with award-winning chocolate bath products by Philosophy.

Afternoon Bite: $60
Enjoy a light afternoon snack in the comfort of your room. Choose from a selection of two types of sandwiches, accompanied by crackers, cheese, hummus and vegetables, as well as a warming soup selection. Opt for tea, coffee or soda, or we can provide a bottle of wine for an extra charge.

The Hollywood Package: $60
Come enjoy a private movie theater experience complete with your own "movie passes" that are good for one rental from our home theater collection. Enjoy freshly made popcorn, candies, and soda as you sit back and enjoy the show.

English Tea Service: $60
Afternoon tea served in the traditional manner. This package features your choice of tea served in fine china accompanied by your choice of two type of tea sandwiches, fresh fruit and cheese, and a delicious plate of warm cookies.

Doggie Delight: $60
Your favorite pooch will indulge on homemade doggie biscuits from the Polka-Dog Bakery in Boston, while sleeping on a comfy dog bed and eating and drinking from the dishes that we provide. Consult the map of pet-friendly areas and parks he can enjoy in Boston. Want to pamper your pup? For an extra charge we will arrange a grooming session with Brookline Grooming. The staff will pick up your dog or cat and give him the extra attention he/she deserves!

The Bertram Inn is a great location for our guests and their pets. Together you can walk the quiet streets of historic suburban Brookline, take a stroll along the beautiful Charles River, or meander through the famous Boston Public Garden.
After a busy day in the city, please enjoy relaxing on our terrace and taking in the fresh smells of the flowers below.

Cancellation Policy
A notice to the Bertram Inn of at least two weeks prior to the scheduled date of arrival is required in order to avoid a penalty. Please inform us of any changes as soon as possible. The fee for a late cancellation is the room cost for any nights that we are unable to resell.

We are located on a quiet street in the residential community of Brookline just 15 minutes from Boston center via public transportation. Points of cultural and historic interest in our immediate vicinity include the JFK birthplace and the Museum of Fine Arts. In addition, we are just a few minutes walk from a wide variety of shops and fine restaurants.
