Maine overlooking the beautiful ocean and Acadia National Park.
Dick and Rocky Homer would like you to be their house guest in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. Enjoy large airy rooms, private baths, ocean views, gardens, and the croquet court. We have 5 acres of grounds, no traffic noise, and it is just 350 yards to the first tee at the golf course.

Along with The Birches Bed and Breakfast is a "The Old House" located a few hundred feet away available for weekly rental.
The Old House is over 110 years old, and The Birches was built as a summer cottage in 1916. This summer cottage was built by Martha Brown Fink and was bought by the Homers in 1950. Extensive renovations in 1974 have produced a year round house reminicent of Maine at its best.

Beautiful southerly overlook of the Great Harbor of Mt. Desert. 5/10 miles west of the Somes Sound Narrows. This is the original (1893) summer cottage in a 6 acre family homestead with 400 feet of shorefront, pier with float and moorings. The Old House has a private drive and parking area. Pets allowed if well trained. |
5 bedrooms, 2 baths. Occupancy limited to 9 persons. Living room, pine paneled, with cathedral ceiling and inglenook fireplace. Dining room (seats 10) glazed three sides. Large front porch overlooking the islands. Large kitchen with two pantries. Sundeck protected from the wind. Complete inventory of bedding, towels, tableware, crockery, utensils, pots and pans. Gas range, electric toaster oven, charcoal grille, refrigerator with top freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker, blender, toaster, vacuum cleaner, stereo radio and player, ATT long distance telephone service, video film and game player, no TV. No washer or dryer ( use the Village Washtub or the Westside Plaza Coin-Op Laundry). Electric baseboard heat in all rooms.

Acadia National Park is beside us and it is a short walk to the start of the trails to Valley Cove and the mountains. We are open year-round, accepting reservations for a two night minimum.

Charges and Options 1. Deposits, when received, hold your reservation until your arrival, at which time the balance is due. We will refund your deposit if the reservation is cancelled more than 14 days prior to arrival. 2. If notice or your cancellation is received 14 days or less prior to your arrival, your deposit will be refunded only if the accommodations can be rented for a like period of time. 3. Personal checks are the preferred method of payment. Visa and MasterCard are accepted from our overseas guests.. *Tenants charged additional for long distance calls, breakage, laundry exceeding linens in use for last two days of occupancy, and electricity (we cannot estimate the electric heat they desire). * Optional arrangements can be made for cleaning service, use of the pier and float, and mooring rental. |
