The main house, built in 1860, is listed on the National
Register of Historic Places,
and has retained its original Victorian architectural splendor.
Distinguished by it's cupola, wrap-around porch, spiral staircase, crystal
star-burst windows, and hand carved moldings, the historic main building offers guests
their choice of two exquisitely decorated suites or four charming guest rooms, all
appointed with period furnishings, comfortable beds, TV/VCR, some with fireplaces, all
with private baths.
Five cottage style buildings surround the perimeter of over an acre of
spacious lawns, gardens, gigantic pines and stately New England maples and house 11
spacious cottage suites, offering privacy and flexibility to guests. The luxurious cottage
suites feature traditional furnishings, queen mahogany plantation beds or four-poster
beds, fireplaces and spacious baths with whirlpool tubs.

The English
Country Cottage Suites are charmingly decorated with Waverly fabrics, colorful wallpaper
and coordinated window treatments. Some have full kitchens; all have full baths and are
the perfect choice for families traveling with children. |
Begin your day with a full New England breakfast lovingly prepared and served in our
dining room, or in the summer, on our front porch. If you are staying in one of the
cottage suites, you'll really feel pampered if you choose to have your breakfast delivered
to your door! Families traveling with children will be delighted with their carefully
prepared breakfast delivered each morning in a delightful wicker basket, making breakfast
at the Maine Stay a most enjoyable experience.

After a day out and about, this is a fun way to chat with other guests or plan your
evening while enjoying a hot cup of tea, freshly baked desserts, or a cooling drink in
warmer weather.
Perfectly located, it's a short stroll along tree-lined streets to the shops,
restaurants and galleries of Dock Square, Kennebunkport's scenic harbor and the rocky
coastline of Ocean Avenue. Sandy beaches and quiet coves are nearby.

Policies |
- Wood-burning fireplaces are not in use from May 31 through Labor Day.
- All rates are based on double occupancy and include a full breakfast and afternoon tea.
Add 7% Maine state lodging tax to all rates. Weekend rates apply to Friday,
Saturday and Sunday nights. Special rates apply for Prelude weekends and
other special event and Holiday periods.
- Additional Charges: Daily charges for more than two people in a cottage
or suite are: Adults: and children 12 and over: $25, Children under 12: $10. There is a
$10 one time fee for cribs, which may be used only in cottages #4, 5, 6 and #8-11
- Special Winter and Spring Romantic Getaway Package! Check our website for current
specials.
- Minimum stays: Minimum stays may be required during peak periods. We
have a two-night minimum stay on most weekends, and three nights on some holiday weekends.
However, we will accept reservations for shorter periods if we have rooms available.
- Deposit: A deposit is needed to secure all reservations. We ask for a
full deposit for weekend stays, special offers and events. All other reservations require
a minimum deposit of an amount equal to the cost of one night's stay or 50% of the total
cost of your stay, whichever is greater.
We request full payment prior to arrival for all weeklong stays. For your convenience, you
may use a credit card to pay your deposit. Your credit card will be charged the day you
make your reservation.
- Confirmation: We will e-mail, mail via post or fax you a confirmation
as soon as we receive your deposit.
- Payment: Payment of your balance is due upon check-in. We accept VISA,
Master Card, Discover and American Express
- Cancellation: We will gladly refund your deposit, minus a $25
bookkeeping charge if you cancel your reservation more than 14 days prior to your arrival.
Refunds for cancellations made within 14 days of arrival, or before scheduled departure
date, are given if we are able to rerent the room.
- Policies: For the comfort and safety of our guests we are a non-smoking
inn and have no facilities for pets. Accommodations in the main
house are not appropriate for children under 12 years old
- Check-in: Between the hours of 3:00 and 7:00 PM. Please call us if you
will be arriving later than 7:00 PM, and we will gladly make special arrangements for you.
- Check-out: Prior to 11:00 AM.
- Office Hours: Office hours are usually 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM. During the
quiet season the office closes earlier, so please call to let us know your expected
arrival time
- Telephones: In keeping with the tranquil atmosphere of the inn, our
guest rooms do not have telephones. There are two phone lines dedicated to guests in the
main house.
