From the hearty country breakfast served every morning to the sumptuous dinner served at night, food is an important part of the warm hospitality that we offer here at the Inn. The parlor, dining rooms, and terrace have exceptional views of the back meadow and the rolling hills beyond. The terrace, surrounded by perennial gardens and crab apple trees, is a wonderful place to enjoy a glass of wine before dinner.
Dinner is served nightly in our candlelit dining room. The inn's dinner menu features fresh, local food, and changes with the seasons. Try the Dijon Walnut encrusted Rack of Lamb, the Seared Sea Scallops on Lobster Ravioli or the Summer Berry Crisp.
We feature Green Mountain Coffee from Vermont. The finest coffees roasted to the peak of flavor.

Our Gardens
The Chesterfield Inn is sited on a hill with a winding driveway leading around the pond from the entrance on Cross Road. The pond is edged with cattails and willow trees and has some very plump green frogs in its waters. On a summer night, the frogs provide a loud chorus from the banks of the pond
Our yard consists of 10 acres of land mostly landscaped into gardens designed by renowned landscape architect Gordon Hayward. Over the years, as the structure of the buildings of the inn grew and evolved, his landscaping created a setting that ties the gardens to the buildings in a natural way so that they work as one to provide the inn's closeness to nature and serene, restful ambience.
The meadow is a mass of wild flowers. In midsummer, the grasses and flowers are waist high and sway in the breeze. There is a mown path through the meadow to explore and enjoy the summertime smell of all of the different flowers and grasses.
The bluestone terrace off of the dining rooms has gardens on all four sides and steps down to the flat lawn when many a wedding has taken place. In the spring the crab apple and azalea blossoms are breathtaking. In winter, the crab apple trees are hung with white lights that twinkle as the snow blows.

If you've always dreamed of being married in the garden at a New England country inn, this is the place for you! Intimate weddings of up to 65 guests can be held at the Inn. Our goal is to provide a beautiful place for your wedding or civil union, to provide exceptional service and great food, and to make sure that every detail is attended to. Ceremonies can be held outside on the blue stone terrace, surrounded by gardens, or inside in front of the fireplace during the cold months. Depending on the time of the year and the size of your wedding, it may be necessary to reserve all 15 of the inn's guest rooms for the weekend of your wedding.
