The Award Winning Historic Home of the "Father of Atlantic City", Dr Jonathan Pitney, Physician, Educator, Politician, Businessman... and more. Built in 1799, added to in 1848 and beautifully restored in 1997 the "Pitney Manor House" has six (6) rooms all with private baths, gas fireplaces, air-conditioning and decorated with antiques from the early 1800's and Victorian era.   Close to the Doctor's Atlantic City (and Casinos), Historic Village of Smithville, Historic Renault Winery, Forsythe Wildlife Preserve and numerous golf courses. The "Guest Quarters" located on the west side of the Commonyard, consists of four (4) beautifully decorated suites that we have harmonized in a treasure-trove of antiques, collectibles and today's conveniences. Step back in time, yet enjoy the warmth of the fireplace or the aromatic scents that waft in the room from the breeze of the ceiling fans. In three suites, enjoy a relaxing whirlpool bath (Jacuzzi) nestled in our very own bathsalts or enjoy your favorite television program or VCR movie. Atlantic City, NJ Bed and Breakfast Inn.

Breakfast & Afternoon Tea

Breakfast starts the night before at the Pitney House. While you are sleeping, the scents of homemade muffins wavering throughout the house to set you in the mood for a sumptuous gourmet breakfast that will greet you in the morning. Breakfast is a special time at the Pitney House and we take pride in our breakfasts, which has become a trade mark of our Inn. Breakfast is served at 8:00am. When we have two sittings they are at 8:00am and 9:30am.

Afternoon teas are served 4:00pm to 5:00pm by request. Storytelling of the Pitney House history is a favorite topic for our guests. View our "before and after" pictures of the renovation of this 200 year old home. Relax and converse with other guests in the Granville Room over hot tea (iced in the Summertime) and savory sweets and pastries made in our own Country Kitchen. Special occasions in the Winter months, enjoy homemade soups and breads in place of tea and treats. You also have the opportunity to purchase the Pitney House collectible pottery mug and our special teas to take home with you.

Behind the vows, every great wedding has a supporting cast: maid or matron of honor and best man who make sure many of the important details are attended to for your special day. However, another important detail that the bridal couple should take careful attention to and consider are accommodations for out of town guests.

As a wedding gift, the Pitney House will discount our rooms 20% when 6 or more rooms are confirmed and reserved.

The Dr. Jonathan Pitney House specializes in intimate weddings and receptions for small first time weddings and "encore" second marriages.
