Built in 1785, The Van Schaack House
has retained the
beauty and elegance of its time - much like the quaint countryside town
of Kinderhook, New York.
Located among the unspoiled landscape of Columbia County between Hudson (we're minutes away from numerous antiques shoppes) and Albany (theatre, ballet, pro and college sports and the city's active nightlife), The Van Schaack House has entertained many distinguished guests over time. John Jay, Gouverneur Morris, Judge Benson, Aaron Burr, Martin Van Buren, Washington Irving and others have all at one time or another enjoyed the comforts this grand mansion provides.
Antique furnishings and beautifully landscaped grounds, as well as an onsite gym, library, and computer room greet guests. Several other rooms are weaved through the intricate layout of the mansion, each offering guests a private, comfortable setting. The Van Schaack House offers four elegant accommodations featuring cable TV/VCRs, irons, ironing boards, hair dryers, and robes and bath products.
Four rooms are available for visitors' sleeping quarters. The John Jay and Martin Van Buren rooms of the four are larger and have bathrooms en suite. The other two (the Sarah Roosevelt and and Judge Benson rooms) have access to an adjacent hallway bath. |
