Millbrook Inn is a classic cape-style farmhouse built by Jack Dana in the 1850s. He located the farmhouse close to his lumber and brick mills on the nearby Mill Brook. Today the mills are long gone and our inn's picturesque setting is midway between the ski slopes and the village of Waitsfield on scenic Route 17. |
Waitsfield is located in central Vermont between Middlebury and Montpelier. Only five minutes from Millbrook Inn you will find some of the finest skiing in the east at Sugarbush Valley and at Mad River Glen. There are also many cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails close by. In summer and fall the Mad River Valley offers excellent hiking, road and mountain biking, canoeing, golfing, soaring, tennis, horseback riding, and swimming.
Since 1979, veteran innkeepers Joan and Thom Gorman have maintained the renowned Vermont innkeeping tradition of offering their guests personalized service in a friendly, unhurried atmosphere. You enter Millbrook Inn through the Warming Room where the antique Glenwood Parlor Stove blazes a warm winter welcome. The quiet living rooms, one with a fireplace, are places to curl up in a rocking chair with a good book or enjoy a parlor game. The seven guest rooms are decorated with hand stenciling, antique bedsteads, handmade quilts, have private baths and queen-size beds, and enjoy views of the beautiful Green Mountains.
The Henry Perkins Room Named for the founder of the inn, this spacious and luxurious room has two windows that provide sun and cross-ventilation, and an antique oak queen-size bed as comfortable as it is beautiful. There is a large closet and lovely private bath that contains a bathtub and shower. A rocking chair completes the comfort-a room in which to relax. |
